FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS TELETHERAPY? HOW DOES IT WORK?
Teletherapy is therapy where the client and therapist connect through a HIPAA compliant platform online instead of in person. It is similar to using FaceTime. You will log in to the platform or waiting room where your therapist will let you into the "room" to have your session.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TELETHERAPY SESSION?
Check that you have a strong internet connection, a device (smart phone/ipad/computer) with a web browser such as Firefox or Safari and a private, quiet room, where no other people can hear you. If you have headphones, you can use those so no one can hear what your therapist says.
WHAT IF WE HAVE TECHNICAL ISSUES?
Due to COVID-19, there is an increased use of online telehealth services which can cause platforms to work improperly. After we check our connections, restart programs, restart our computers, if there are still connection problems, then we will connect over the phone to finish our session.
